Siemens Gamesa and Wicetec enters into a licensing agreement for blade heating control software

Following a thorough and successful testing in operational winter conditions, wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa and Wicetec has entered into a licensing agreement for Wicetec’s blade heating control software. The software controls the right amount of heating power applied to the blade surface heaters to prevent blade icing by utilising Wicetec® BTE virtual sensor algorithm. Under the agreement, Siemens Gamesa is entitled to use the heating control software as part of its anti-icing system.
