6MW prototype in Sweden

Wicetec adapted WIPS technology together with a major wind turbine manufacturer to a 6 MW wind turbine. Rotor size is more than 170 m being the biggest rotor with Wicetec heater technology so far.
Prototype wind turbine is located in Sweden in harsh winter conditions and performed excellently.
Control of the system is fully integrated with the turbine controller. The anti-icing system is equipped with Wicetec® BTE virtual sensor system, and this sensorless control has proved to be capable of similar or even better control compared to traditional sensors.
